Export IFC - IfcWall and IfcWallStandardCase

Hello,

I am working on revit and when creating the IFC model, I have two IFC categories at the wall level.

IfcWall and IfcWallStandardCase

The problem arises on the data made available by IFC for IFCWall

IFCWall does not give access to "BaseQuantities" unlike IFCWallStandardCase

My question is, is it normal not to have these elements in the IFCWall

Even if we force the classification in "IfcWallStandardCase", we don't find the "basequantities" and "layer thicknesses".

Is this a problem with the IFC REVIT export engine?

Thank you in advance

Hi @Anonymous ,

Has the wall of the "IfcWall"-type been edited with profile edit? (I assume it's a actual Wall and not a Family exported as a IfcWall)

Some shape editing can cause this, like editing the wall profile to a circle.

So it seems walls from which the basequantities can't be determined due to the shape are exported as "IfcWall"...I think.

Depending the IFC viewer the Quantity can be determined by the viewer itself (Like Solibri)

Optionally Create a Material takeoff schedule for walls (or filter by name etc..) and include the schedule.

In the IFC export window unde "Property Sets" you can add schedules to be exported with the element as a seperate property set (also check the "export only schedules containing IFC, Pset etc ... in the title, to reduce the number of schedules exported)
