Elevations Realistic View Not Working

Anonymous

Had this problem for some time. When viewing elevations in the realistic model display it only shows up when I am using the scroll bar on my mouse. No lines, no patterns, nothing. I get the highlighted elements when I roll my cursor over them but can't otherwise see them. Thought it was  simple fix but, after a computer update it suddenly worked again for a couple hours then out nowhere suddenly was back to no longer being seen. These drawings don't show up on exported pdfs. Thought it might have something to do with the graphics card but, I'm really not sure.

Try to disable use of hardware acceleration (file menu >> options)

Besides that, several things can cause that

  1. A missing Revit update/patch which needs install
  2. Large CAD files (can try switching them off)
  3. Far extents from Internal origin
  4. Full cash memory... full TEMP folders
  5. 1000+ unresolved warnings causing revit to stop regenerating view

HA! The video is so short, the counter doesn't even register the elapsed time.  What are we supposed to see in this blink of an eye?

It definitely has something to do with the graphics card.  You can fix it short term by disabling hardware accelerations under Revit settings but the performance may take a hit.  I would look into updating the card driver next.

Are you sure you have the latest update installed?  All I can say is that we never used 2021 in production because of issues like this.  They happened far too often.   My suggestion would be to ditch 2021 and upgrade the project to 2022 if possible.  Tall order, I know; but that's my professional feedback, FWIW.
