Hi There,
I've spent a day trying to figure this out and i can't. I've attached the family if anyone is able to edit for me.
The door swing lines in elevation need to be reversed, IE, arrow to door handle, not hinge(US Standard).
This family is one i downloaded and edited to suit our business, however that's the only part i can't fix. It uses a formula for door handle / hinge side of door, and i need that represented in elevation.
We always used exterior view view for schedules.
See the attached file. What I did just edited the sub family from elevation view and changed the reference lines.
That's a very complicated door family.
I opened your family and deleted the incorrect lines. I then removed the visibilty parameter for the correct swing lines and the door displays correctly.
Hi There,
Thanks so much for your help on this. It's almost correct but in some of the sizes the door swing lines don't line up to their correct spot - sometimes shorter than the door handle sometimes past the door handle.
I really have no idea how to fix this! I've only been using revit for a short time.
@Anonymous
I'm not sure i understand what you mean.
We need to be able to alternate between left and right hinge, so wouldn't deleting it stop that from being possible?
Would you be able to upload an example?
Yes, the family has both options built in, but typically a door family has a flip control to determine LH or RH swings.
@Anonymous Sure I understand that, however the symbolic lines that indicate the swing of the elevation are displaying opposite to how I need them to meet the Australian standards, and this is the part that i don't know how to fix.
Anyhow I think it may just be easier to purchase a premium revit door family(and hope it allows for the customization), because I really have no idea what I am doing or how to fix this.
As the visibility is a Yes/No parameter you can simple reverse the visibility..
In the doorleaf family, make 2 new instance Yes/No parameters [SwingLineForHandleOnLeftSide] and [SwingLineForHandleOnRightSide] and assign them to the correct swinglines.
Then create the reversing formulas:
