I was wondering if revit can let me Displaying a material thumbnail (of a family type) on schedules like it lets to show thumbnail of "Type image" parameter.
In my specific project, i need to enter the jpg filename twice for each family type:
1. on Type image.
2.As a material inside the family.
It there an option or formula that can make a connection between Type image and the filename used in the material? it will save tons of work.
You would need to use type image parameter as you're showing above, when placed on sheet the images will show. Have a look at below example. I don't think you could do it from materials directly as you want to.

...or perhaps you could use a Material takeoff schedule and create an instance material project/shared parameter to schedule those, because then you could use a material for each sign and assign the sample image to it.
as to your first reply: i know how to make a schedules with images. my question is how to connect "type image" with material in a family.
as for second answer:
i tried to make a material takeoff schedule, and add the "material:image" field. it stays empty.
How can i make a connection between "material:image" to the actual material for the family?
You mean add it to image type parameter? that will only update the schedule.
as a material.
look at the right window in the photo i attached in the first post.
