Detail item embedded in planting family prints under filled region in plan - issue

Hi all,

I am currently working on a site plan and I have an issue visualising a detail item embedded in a planting family (a 2D tree created with symbolic lines and filled regions), above a filled region (no masking, only background pattern) that is located in my project file.
For some reason the filled region contained in the project file is always printed above the detail item.

I have been trying different settings both for the filled region and for the imported planting element without luck.
Is there any workaround to fix this?

Many thanks

Planting is a model object and any detail or symbolic line added to the planting will always classified as model. Regardless if you want to put in fill region, it will block out the planting object with the embedded detail. So your only way around this is to use fill region as transparent.

Hi syman2000,

thanks for your reply.

I am currently working with RVT2020 and I noticed that the "transparent/opaque" option is not contained in the filled region type parameters anymore. I-ve also tried to uncheck the "masking" option but without luck on the final result.
Do you know if there's another way to set it?

Thank you

Yea they replace it with a checkbox. This is where you check on/off if you want it masking

Alternatively you can use visibility/graphics override and change the detail transparency.

Sounds like the detail item is placed on a Work Plane in the family. This is accomplished by selecting "Draw in Foreground" as described in this AKN Article:
