Cut profile not working after linking two models

When I link a model the cut profile only shows the green line without cutting anything. The display setting is set to Linked View and the cut profile appears correctly when opening the linked model.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check your View Phase Filter. 

...phases might be  mapped incorrectly.

I'm suppressed your seeing a line at all from the linked file. The Cut Profile tool is a View specific setting.  have you ever had the work in the past?

This has been a consistent issue. My work around has been to use fill
regions.

The green line only appears in views of the main file I'm linking into.
