Custom fixed shape leader for tags

The tag all is great and all but I am having a hard time with the tags leader alignment. As per out office standard when tagging studs in dry walls for for instance all tags should have the shown text orientation and leader with 45 degrees leader and shoulder. which flip at the middle of the wall.

I tried the angle in the tag but that change the text angle and actually messes the leader and creates more work! Is there a way to have a standard predefined leader?

If you want a fixed leader, do not use it ... Do the following:

  • edit the tag
  • Create a new type and place the 45deg bend + Vertical Fixed Line/Leader
  • Give the above a Y/N visibility parameter
  • Repeat for a second type (the mirror of the above)
  • Load and tag without a leader

Edit: See GIF below

In such case, the easiest would be to place 1 tag >> set the leader as desired then use copy multiple to the rest of the studs. Where you need to flip simply use Mirror (MM or MD)

A more practical approach would be to integrate the label in the family of the stud. (depending on the type of parameter you intend to label) you wont even need to tag or flip or any of that. However, this works only for Plan views. In Family Editor environment, annotations are not placed in Family Elevation/Section views

See GIF below. It is from another post on doors; however, the principle is the same
