create your own shared parameters with formula

Just to keep on knowing how to start using shared parameters. At first sight, It seems to me that I need to create a text files, better imported on Excel before and trace the parameters on a row using standard or personal column styles format to give to Revit the format to convert your parameters formula in automatic style import. How to set up this files, and what do you literaly you advice to don't create errors? I found for example this File from HVAC company, but I am not sure if using it and add one or more parameters or create a new one with similar rules.

Any advice? Best regards

It's a lot easier to create shared parameters from within the Project or Family environment.

Yes but let's say for example, I want to add parameters to spaces that I actually don't find in Revit by default. Would be feasible anyway?

Shared parameters file should not be created editing a .txt file nor Excel file. Instead, use Revit's dialog boxes to create and edit your shared parameters file. Begin by Manage > Shared Parameters > Create > [name the new file] > Create a group > Create a parameter.

Yeah but did you point to that file from Revit > Manage > Shared parameters?

I create a blank new one txt file, and only one parameter can be exported, others cannot, no idea what restricted

there is no other txt file in the whole RVT folders, i tried delete old parameter and input formula again, also tried export in another family, .....also tried a blank parameter without formula.... none working....

is it a software version problem also? this is a direct function....

What I meant was the parameter was already in the txt file.

no, there is no parameter in the txt file, i now created a blank new txt file, nothing inside, please see the screenshot
