Is there a way to show the riser and tread of uncut stairs in hidden lines?

Sure.  Use View > Show Hidden Lines tool > Pick the Stair twice.

Use Show Hidden Lines.

Help | Show Hidden Lines by Element | Autodesk

TIP: <Hidden Lines> is a Subcategory under Stairs Parent Category in VGOs.  This is where you change the Line Pattern and Weight and Color of Show Hidden Line Work.

I know this is the solution but don't know why when I use it, no response. I follow the instruction by clicking "show hidden lines" first, then click the element (stringer) that blocks the hidden elements(steps) , then click the steps, nothing happened

Modify the <Hidden Lines> Subcategory. You probably need to change the Line Type to show up in the View because of the View Scale.

First: try a different View Scale to see if the Hidden Linework it there.

Yes, the hidden line works. Can you possibly post a video to show the steps? Is it because  some steps are already shown because section line cut through those steps; I noticed, even by using Tab, I can only pick either the stringer or the whole assembled stairs, but not only the hidden steps; however, I can pick the steps being cut.

First click the whole stair, second click the same whole stair.  Do not TAB to select stringer or steps.

Okay, it works! However, it is not hidden line - the hidden steps show like steps being cut, which line does it use?

Also, I can not put dimension on the hidden steps, the lines can't be selected.

Then nothing wrong I did. It should be in green dash lines, however it is not. Puzzled.

If your elevation far clip is cutting the stair then modify <Hidden Lines> Cut subcategory under Stairs.

If your elevation far clip is beyond the stair then modify <Hidden Lines> Projection subcategory under Stairs.
