Converting detail view to drafting view

Hello

I use 2018

Does anyone know if I can take a detail view (fashioned after the model but with all of the model hidden) and save it as a drafting view, and ultimately put it in a "Detail Library" to be able to be used on other similar projects?

Yes--you can use 2D Detail components and other such detail items in your Detail View--then select them and Copy/Paste, or--create a Detail Group by selecting them, naming--and then Copy/Paste the Detail Group into a Drafting View. The Drafting View, when finished, can then be copied into your Template ( .rte file) if you would like to use the template for standard details, etc. when starting a new Project ( .rvt) file.

Maybe @glkirk  is asking about callouts?

Print/export to dwg/pdf linework & re-insert into drafting view. For this question insert into annotation/detail item family.
