I've been using Revit/ADT for a long time and every version installs its own materials library... so I've got about 25 or so materials libraries taking up drive space. My guess is most of the content is the same with a few new or updated ones in each release. Is there some reasonable way to consolidate the tens of thousands of these material files together in one folder (skipping the duplicates for a manageable list) and make one, new .adsklib file from them all without "create new material" one at a time? I would guess the 'smart' content of the materials isn't stored in the .png file itself, but somewhere else in the library or support files? Anyone with any luck doing this?

Consolidate "tens of thousands of these material files together in one folder"? Seriously? Tens of thousands? Am I reading you right? I can't be.

Ok, lol 10's of thousands is a bit of hyperbole but a search through the Autodesk installation folders found around 4,500 .png images of materials. 😞
