Combine Calculated Value

Hi ya'll,

I want to combine two Calculated Value, but since they're not parameters, it's not available from the list. Is this possible?

Because combined parameters are not assigned to a category, they cannot be reused. If you want to use the combined parameter in another schedule, you must redefine it.

You can get it to work. I did a test creating dummy calculated value X & Y. When I create the Z calculated value, I am able to reference X & Y calculated value to give me another calculated value.

Combine Parameters

All you need to do is create calculated value with X in between the X, Y, Z value. Then you use the cell and hide the lines in between.

Once that is done, remove the header and you will get one seemless combine calculated value.

"If you want to use the combined parameter in another schedule, you must redefine it." -I am able to combine Parameters the way I need them to appear, with prefixes, suffixes, dashes and dots and such. I am also able to create Calculated Value with formulas base on what need to be presented in the format I need.

Can you show an example of the final combined parameter that you want?

My understanding was that you wanted to Combine Calculated Parameters. If you are able to do that through Combine Parameters, please share.

this method won't work for my case since I'm trying to do a either-or condition where I'm trying to base on a Yes/No param. But this might work on future Schedule. Neat trick, thanks for sharing!

What are the parameter types of

[Product] is [IP-Yes/No]

[CalculatedValue 1] is a Combined Param consist of [IP-text]-[IP-text]-[IP-text]-[IP-text]

[CalculatedValue 2] is [IP-text] #this is essentially the param that contains the room#

...where IP is Instance Parameter.

I have another thought on doing this but also am unsure on is that... is it possible to transpose the CV1 into a new param and grab this param from the Calculated Value formula Fields?

Still trying to wrap my brain around this. So, what you are saying is that you want to create a Calculated Parameter with the formula =if (Product, "Calculated Value 1", "Calculated Value 2") - where "Product" is a Yes/No Parameter, "Calculated Value 1" is a Combined Parameter of Text Parameter Values, and "Calculated Value 2" is Calculated Parameter of the Text Type that is "essentially the param that contains the room".  

Based on your description, I'm envisioning something like this. See why I can't wrap my brain around this?

Combined Parameters aren't a Shared Parameter therefore I can't call it out from the Formula, and so my thought of transposing that outcome into a parameter that'd be great.

I'm trying to do what syman20000 shows in Message 3 of this thread from 5-24-2019.

All he is doing is removing the linework between columns X, A, Y, B, Z with the Edit Border tool I showed you a screenshot of. There's nothing fanciful happening.  No calculations are being made. 1, X, 2, X ,2  are cell values with no border line between them.
