Changing Revit version 2024 to 2023

I have 2024 installed on my computer but I would like to know if its possible to downgrade it to 2023.

I tried checking the Autodesk support website but all it showed by trying to convert the file from 2024 to 2023 which may lose critical elements of the drawings.

Does anyone know how to change a 2024 Revit to 2023?

EDIT: Thank you all for the reply. Deleted 2024 and redownloaded 2023 and it works great!

You can't do that. 2023 is a separate install. Same thing when you are upgrading. It's a separate program.

So you wish to install Revit 2023 version? Sure you can do that (and two previous versions from that).

Just like @RSomppi stated, it's a separate program, so you need a separate install for it. Just go https://manage.autodesk.com/products , navigate to Revit, and click the desired model from the drop-down menu.

You don’t that's not how it works

If your on subscription you can install multiple versions of the software

All the versions are separate installs it does not overwrite other installs

AFAIK you only can install older versions if your subscription reaches that far back. If you started subscription today, you only can use 2024. If your subscription started in 2019, you can go that far back (but installation files 3+ years old are a bit hidden).

if possible, have those people you work with upgrade to 2024.

Revit Version: R2026.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec

You can install either 2023 or 2024 or both. You can not save "down" to an earlier version, only upgrade is possible.

Hi @kangs32

Thanks a lot for posting your question to the forums!   As @SteveKStafford has mentioned, Revit does not offer backward compatibility so you will not be able to open this 2024 .rvt file in Revit 2023.

With that said you can try using an IFC export method as detailed here but you will most likely be subject to loss of data through this process.
