Change cut pattern of specific material in detail views

Hey everyone,

I am trying to change the cut pattern of our mineral wool material in detail views. As we are working with insulation lines in detail drawings it is confusing to draw those over the top of the mineral wool hatch pattern that is asigned to the material ( and necessary for our plans and sections).

Until now we had to draw filled regions over the top to hide the hatch pattern and make a white background behind the insulation lines. This makes it very tiring to spot misalignments in the modelled walls and is just in general not very BIM.

So I tried to find a filter that would allow me to change the hatch pattern of the mineral wool material to solid white but i cannot find that option anywhere. Does anyone have an idea how this could be solved without either hiting geometry or drawing regions on top? I've already tried to convince my colleagues to stop using insulation lines but with no success so far 😞

I'm totally lost. But the gist of the question, as I understand it, is about overriding graphics in View. Revit has a tool for this.  Override Graphics in View By Element, By Category and/or By Filter.

I admit it is a bit of a specific question. I know all about overriding graphocs in view. The problem I have is that I need to only override the graphics of one material. Element overrides didnt help me so far.

I'm not following. You cannot override Materials.  You can only override elements/categories. 

Why didn't element override work for you?  Maybe knowing that would help me to better understand what you are trying to do.

Create parts and override parts material; or filter parts with that material and override cut pattern for the filter.

Thats what I figured as well. However element override didnt help because I just need the hatching of only one layer of my wall to be different in deail views. If I override the hatching of the entire wall it doesnt really help me.

Thats a good idea actually. I think if it was only for a couple detail views that could work but we have about 70 views where it applies so I'm not sure it would actually be quicker.
