Revit is not Backward Compatible so you cannot open newer drawing version in older releases.

Once a model has been updated to a newer release it cannot be a saved in and earlier release either like AutoCAD.

 

There are a couple of workarounds using IFC but not ideal

Backward compatibility of Revit with earlier releases of the software (autodesk.com)
