Bottom of lintel level

Hi ,

I need the bottom of lintel value from SSL using door and window tag.

Consider this,

    1.I am  working in arch model which is having ground floor level 0.00

    2.some location level varies

    So one location I have modeled the door (2100mm height)  in -200mm from FFL

   3.The linked str model having the slab -300 ( SSL) at the same location

So what i need,

     (Door height+ diff b/w FFL and SSL) = (BOL FROM SSL)

                     (2100+100)=2200mm

How to get this value automatically in all location.

One way is to do the following:

In the tag family, you can select the label>> edit label and add new parameter = Head height +100

As I told the 100mm is not a fixed one. The level is continuously varying.

In that case, You can place the door in reference to the SSL level.

You could set it up in the door family as a parameter to schedule which calculates height/sill height; however, the value of the dif. between the SSL and the FLL you will have to input manually (either by instance or by type)

to automate it,

you could use global parameters

you could use dynamo

Is there any possibility to get the host wall bottom level for a window and door?

You can extract those using dynamo and set as parameters in the door/window family … but then you would need to set a rule for placing walls and added bottom constrains. It is not something to do half way in the middle of the project where you have to review all the walls in the project

Otherwise, I think your best/fastest option would be to work it out from within the family based on custom sill height parameter (not the built in one) and then in the project add a global parameter for each height difference FFL/SSL

Couldnt you just add an offset parameter (instance) in the family?

1. consider using 2 slabs on two levels instead of 1 (1 Architectural + 2 Structural ex: Level 1 TOF and Level 1 TOS).
2. In the project the base constraint of the wall should be set to the lower level SSL otherwise if you place on the  FFL, give a negative offset from level - in case dynamo is to be used later the latter is preferable for getting the value of the built in Base Offset from level and setting it to the parameter mentioned below (Fussbodenaufbau).
3. When modeling the 3D geometry of the door in family editor, the frames and panel should stop at the FFL while the wall opening should be from lintel to Structural slab.
4. In the family you need to add a  parameter for the height between FFL and Structural Slab which in this case is called Fussbodenaufbau in the below image (the value of this parameter you can either automate using dynamo or global parameters)
5. In the family ... add a shared parameter to calculate the total height - This parameter will be tagable as you showed in the image you posted 
   • (Door Height or Lintel height from level) + (height from FFL to SSL  - the parameter mentioned in point 4)

As mentioned, from this point on you have two options:

Option A: you can either use dynamo to look up the host of the door, get the Base Offset of that host and set it back to the Parameter Fussbodenaufbau in the door while the shared parameter mentioned in poiint 5 calculate the rest to appear in your tag

Option B: set X number of global parameters for the several  height variations you have then associate the Fussbodenaufbau parameter with the corresponding GP (in such case it might be better if the Fussbodenaufbau is a type parameter)

So I didn't fully get the question before, you want to add the level height the door is placed at in the tag...
Easiest might be probably to input that manually in a shared parameter in your door/window types for each level (or you can use global parameters or dynamo to return the value). And you can have an instance offset like above to a level below next to the sill height…

Was that what you meant? Because I thought you wanted the doors on first level to read ie. BOL 2.1, on second level BOL 2.1+3.0(level height) etc.? edit: nope, rereading that was it probably. Same answer is in post#2+4 really, albeit not exactly...
