Hi there,

i2.jpgI want to model the shape visible in the photo, it could be just one such element, not the whole portion of it. The thing is that when I model it through sweeping, it creates sth like this: 15.PNG

Do you have any idea how to obtain the very shape from the pic?

Thanks!

Approximately, yes.

You could use a mass extrusion and rotate the upper outline.

How about a 4-Point Adaptive Component place using Repeater Method?

...this is what I'm suggesting. Just a quickie example to show the concept applied.  First image is the component and second image is the component placed on nodes of divided lines and then Repeater tool used to..well..repeat it.  You can control twisting/pattern by node layout on divided lines.

Another method could be:

  • in Conceptual Mass editor use a Spline Through Points (as Driving Points) for  Path and Host Points for placing Profiles.
  • Then select the Path and the Pofile(s) - could be multiple Profiles on multiple Host Points - and create a Solid Form.
  • Activate the X-Ray and you will be able to edit the Form by Bending and Twisting it as you want.
