Base level constraint for Model-in-place families?

Hi there!

Modeling some atrium edges over here... Since they're all different, model in place (wall) is the way to go.

However, I don't seem to have the base level constraint in these elements, even though they're all modeled per floor (set work plane to the corresponding floor). We use the base level constraint for BIM coordination with consultants.

Is there a way to do this?

The only way I can think of would be to use the "convert in-place family to family hack".

Then load the family into the Project and maybe it will have Level Constraints?

I was afraid that was going to be the case, but due to volume and complexity of the project that won't be feasible.

Guess I'm going to disappoint the BIM manager... :'}

What does the above mean exactly?

I think the base level constraint is used to filter per floor, but I am not exactly sure.

Either way, they found a way to work with it.
