Bar Joists in Mechanical Model

I created a Mechanical model so I can coordinate ductwork with joists, etc. I added the steel bar joists to the Architectural model and inserted it into the Mechanical model, but the joists don't appear. I checked the VG of the Revit  link and it appears that the joist category is checked, but I admit I am a little confused on the correct way to control VG in links. Any idea where to look is appreciated, thanks!

You sure? Is Detail Level set to Med. or Fine?

...the default visibility of the Link in the View is BY HOST.  Is the Structural Framing Category turned on in the View?

Not sure how to check that, but it appears that even though the categories are grayed out, they are checked. See below: I don't know where to go from here.

Just go to your Model Categories Tab and see if the Structural Framing Category is checked.

...Could be Hidden by Element. Press the lightbulb icon to Reveal Hidden Elements.

Nothing showing with Reveal Hidden Elements ?

You could post the Arch. and Mech. Projects if you like.

...I'll bet one of these 33 apply:
