Hi Revit Savvy's!

I wonder what's the cleanest way to model this awning/pergola, curtain wall maybe?!

Please let me know if you have a better approach

Thanks a lot3.jpg

I would just do Model in Place and select specific types (Beam, Lights, Generic Model  etc...) and you can add parameters as required... But if the client is paying a million dollars for this, you can do something a lot more elaborate but I don't see why they would... Curious what others will say honestly, good post sir!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Both of the following are easy/easiest/same easiness:

  1. Roof / Sloped Glazing
  2. Beam System

You should also be able to pull it off with

  • a Pattern Based Family on a Divided surface of a mass (Slightly more work but would save you lots of time later)
  • An array in a Generic Model
  • An adaptive family (incase you want to go crazy and randomize sizes, shapes and angles

I would definitely say a curtain system, and create the custom panels and "mullions" needed. That way you could easily modify it if needed.

I would create curtainwall and use the mullion to divide them. See attached
