Automatic Ceiling tool not working in 2023. How to draw SAT ceilings automatically?

Can you confirm your Walls are Room Bounding in the Properties Palette

and the Ceiling Height is lower than the Wall Height

to piggy-back on @jay_colc .... are you sure your ceiling is Below the top of your walls. if you place your ceiling at the same elevation as the top of the wall, it will go over the top.

also, depending on what version your running, make sure your walls are not slanted.

Wall hts are 14' and Ceil. hts. are 9'. All walls were drawn in plan and show on the Reflected Ceiling plan.

If you select a Wall is there a Tick where is states Room Bounding in the Properties Palette?

are the walls set to Vertical? if set to tapered or slanted you cannot place an automatic ceiling.

The walls are vertical and there is no "tick" where it states "Room Bounding."

This is the issue, if the Wall are not bounding they cannot automatically define the boundary for the ceiling

Bounding is checked in Properties, so should it be unchecked?

The Walls create the perimeter for the ceiling so the Walls need to be room bounding “Ticked” in the properties palette for the walls.

Room bounding for the ceiling means the ceiling is used as the top of the room (box) rather than the floor above.

For Clarity,

4 Walls all room bounding above the height of the Ceiling level

Ceiling Automatically detects bounding elements and will be created

If there is no full boundary no Ceiling cannot be automatically created

This would require manually sketching the boundary of the ceiling
