Applying a pattern on a pannel

Hello Everyone,

Capture.PNG

I have made a custom pattern (DWG) using Autocad, and I want to make a family in Revit and apply this pattern on the panel's surface. I want to align the pattern's borders to the panel's borders and adjust the pattern with panel size. I tried to group the pattern, but I did not succeed. Any idea how I can do it?

Best,

Mahan

When the panel resizes to grids what would happen to the pattern?

Option 1: An easy one is use cutout map in the material which you can resize to match the Panel Size (different panel sizes => Different Material)

Option 2: Treat the Panel with several Arrays of a face based nested voids

Option 3: An easier version of the above is to create the composition using added Grids + 2 types of panels (ie: 8 Fully perforated panels + 5 Solid ones)...ie: you will need 2 panels

  • 1 solid
  • 1 fully perforated

Option 4: Use Dynamo ... there are several methods one of which is applying an Image as a pattern https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgKwPuX04kQ

You are welcome...Revit file attached see if you can make use of the Panel or Material in it

That is how it would look with Option 1

And as per Option 3
