Answer Day: Text in Section Heads

In Revit 2016, Text (as opposed to Labels) displays in "Callout Heads" and in "Section Heads."

In Revit 2017, Text displays in "Callout Heads" but does not display in "Section Heads."

Is this intended behavior or a mistake?

Hi @Lance.Coffey I checked the default Snowdon Tower sample file for Revit 2024. The section symbol still does not seem to have a prompt to make the section "Callout head" have a masked region so that the circle is not transparent. I can see through the section symbol and see that it is overlapping with building elements.

Thank you for the update @arch_tsetenVYP6J

While the original issue (for this thread) of text in the section head not showing up in the project was resolved, I'm seeing that the issue of masking regions in Section Heads remains open: Masking for Sections and Callouts (and could use some more votes).

Although, if you want the text to be oriented relative to the plane of the section, you can turn on the "Rotate text with component" parameter in the Section Head family, and this will keep the text aligned with the section (and its easier to keep the separator line aligned).
