Adjust end of stair railings

Hi fellas!

How do I achieve this result for stair railings?

Use two hand rails, one with extension, one without, then TAB on the one with extension to edit rail > edit path, then sketch the curve to connect the two handrails.

Thanks, but I only get the option to sketch in a plan view.

(In section view) Chose the rail -> Edit path -> Go to view (area plans & floor plans)

 

Do I need them to be separated?
Right now we've used a railing that consists of both rails

You need to TAB to select the handrail only, not the entire railing.

To segway in on @ToanDN  's suggestion - once you have TAB -selected the handrail, in its properties you will see options for each end.
