Adding Submittal Information to Model

I've seen a few posts on this topic but no clear answer.

Is there a way to add submittals/product data into a component? Either on Revit or another Autodesk program?

You can add product-specific data to a family by filling in the parameters in the Identity Data group of the family, or in custom parameters. In particular, you can enter a path in the URL parameter of this group, to associate the family with a document in the project's folders or in the web.
