Adding a "Discipline" Parameter

Anonymous
Not applicable

I need a reminder.  We have more than the standard Disciplines on my current project.  How do I add a "Discipline" to the list of Disciplines listed as choices?  I need to add some like Kitchen, Security, Signage and so on.  I don't want them as sub categories.

Thank You

if it is for Browser organization then create a different parameter and assign it to Sheets and Views categories.  If it to delineate work responsibility then use worksets.

When I am putting in the Parameter it shows as a independent parameter.  It isn't going in as a Discipline.  It doesn't show up in the Disciplines list.  How can I get the new parameters to show up in the existing Disciplines?

Thanks

Pardon me, but I'm a little confused by your intermingling of the terms: "Parameters" and "Disciplines". But, I think you may be wanting to add a project parameter of the text type to your views. Right?

The Discipline parameter is hard-coded and cannot be changed.  The new parameter should just be a Text instance parameter assigned to Views and Sheets.

I was trying to add Disciplines to this list.  But I guess this list is Hard Coded.  So that's out.  See below

Yes, I get that. It sounded as though you were even aware of that already, and was trying to remember out how to add a "Discipline" named text parameter field to your view properties. This would easily be accomplished by adding it through Project Parameters, as Toan and I suggested.  Each view then could be assigned a unique discipline of your choosing. You'd just enter that name in that project parameter field that you created and assigned to the View's properties.

You left the question for me or OP?  Either way, yes.
