2019.1 Recent Files list not updating correctly

We have multiple computers running Revit 2019.1, where the recent files list (both home screen and file menu) are not updating the projects after applying the patch.  It worked great on 2019 prior to the .1 patch.  We don't use worksets on our projects, so this is not a central file vs. local file issue.

Any ideas for fixes are appreciated!

Ike

I had fixed this issue but it popped back up with the recent Hotfix update (2019.2.1).

The best way is to ignore "recent files" completely and open the files directly from where they are stored.
This way you know you are reliably opening  the correct version of your file.

The "recent files" in Revit has never worked correctly since it's inception so I guess they are not too worried about fixing it.

Accepted solution

Solution Recent-files-list-and-Recent-File-icons-are-updating-in-Revit

In short: open Revit.ini, find & empty Recent File List, save.

Rather than going to the ini file, Autodesk should find a permanent robust
solution. That would be easier for everybody 😉

They fixed it...

Same issue here right now. Revit 2019.2.1

I didn't read through the whole thread, what's the latest solution?

You don't have to read the entire thread. Just start from the end and go backwards.

As the OP, I just accepted the only solution there has been so far... which is to edit the .ini file.
I've moved on to 2020 and no longer care if they fix 2019.X  Hopefully the issue doesn't persist in the latest version, but if it does we'll start again.

Thank you. We're not on 2020 yet, so this will continue to suck, I guess.

I just submitted a support request on this issue, as I am on the latest greatest build of 2019:

(19.2.10.7  -  20190225_1515(x64)  -  2019.2.1)

and I'm still having the same recent files screen problem, but with wildly random variations.
It just is not acceptable for Autodesk to tell us the solution is to use to Revit 2020, knowing that with its lack of backward compatibility, firms like ours who collaborate with other companies cannot be in the driver's seat on when to move to the latest version.  (Sometimes we also have delays in getting access to the latest version from our enterprise contract.)

When I get a response, I will share it here.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for your report. A specialist will be looking into your issue.

I understand your frustration and will try best to assist.

Meanwhile, can you please let me know if it is the recent files (in the File menu) or the Revit Home page that does not sort the models as expected? Please attach some screenshots.

@Viveka_CD

Then that's a very poor decision. When I open Revit, 99% of the time, I want to open the last shared model I worked in.

What you've done is the opposite of streamlined and ease of navigation. I now have to browse for my project every time, rather than clicking the project tile when I launch Revit.
