AutoCAD Map 3D is in the list of products, for which perpetual licences will not be available any more. On the other hand, there is no desktop subscription available (at least in the german pricelist). That means, that AutoCAD Map 3D cannot be sold any more from next year on. When will there be a desktop sub for AutoCAD Map 3D?
Kind regards
Herbert
Hello Herbert. We haven't set a date yet for the introduction of Desktop Subscription for AutoCAD Map 3D. Those discussions are underway and we will make announcements about that offering as soon as possible. The best current option for customers that want to subscribe to AutoCAD Map 3D is Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite Standard.
And there is aIso the option of using the free open source QGIS which offers similar functionality
neilyj (No connection with Autodesk other than using the products in the real world)

Now we are even closer to February 1st, 2016. Any news about Desktop Subscription for MAP 3D? Or will the solution be Infrastructure Design Suite?
Bente,
there still is no information about the future of AutoCAD Map 3D. Autodesk will not offer perpetual licenses any more and on the other hand, there is no price for desktop subscription until now.
In my opinion, this shows is a lot of ignorance for the needs of Map3D customers, autodesk dealers and developers. There are only two months left until retirement of perpetual licences. How should anyone make plans for the next year(s) without information?
Hello @h_putz and @Anonymous, a Desktop Subscription offering for Map 3D will be available February 1, to provide you with the ability to subscribe to this product as we end the sale of Map 3D perpetual licenses on Jan. 31. Note that before Feb. 1, you have the option of purchasing additional perptual licences if you want. And, even after we end the sale of new perpetual licenses, you can always renew your perpetual license's Maintenance Subscription contracts. Keeping those contracts current will ensure that you recieve product updates, support and other benefits even after Feb. 1.
Regards,
Felice
