Setup Visual-studio-2015-based solution to work with Civil 3D 2019

Situation:

I've been working with VS2015 and Civil 3D 2018 for 4 months.  However, Civil 3D 2019 requires VS 2017 and dotnet framework 4.7.

I don't want to move up to VS2017 and found a work-around method that can help VS2015 to work with Civil 3D 2019.

Hope this can help some one.

Solution:

Assuming that Civil 3D 2019 and Visual studio 2015 are installed.

Step 1: We need the following additional packs installed:

1. .Net framework 4.7 developer Pack:

Download at Microsoft webpage: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/visual-studio-sdks

(Direct link: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/thank-you/net47-developer-pack)

Besure to download exact version (4.7 only, NOT 4.7.1 or 4.7.2, they wont work)

2. Autodesk_ObjectARX_2019_Win_64_and_32_Bit

http://download.autodesk.com/esd/objectarx/2019/Autodesk_ObjectARX_2019_Win_64_and_32_Bit.sfx.exe

Step 2: Edit your Project properties and references in VS 2015

1. Project Properties:

Change the target Framework to: .NET Framework 4.7

Change debug programe to Civil 3D 2019

Update the References\Reference Paths... to new path (If not, VS2015 will still take the old dll version in Old path). After changed, some reference libaries (whose paths listed in Reference paths...) will be updated.

Project-Properties-2Project-Properties-2
Project-Properties-3Project-Properties-3

2. Change the reference path of the remaining libraries if neccessary.

DONE.

Now you can save and rebuild your project and CV3D 2019 is ready for debug mode.

Good luck.

P/s:

1. Autocad 2019 Dotnet Wizard at https://www.autodesk.com/developer-network/platform-technologies/autocad, cant be installed to VS2015. So the temporary solution is installing AutoCAD_2018_dotnet_wizards.zip; then follow Step 2 described above.

2. In my case, I found CV3D 2019 can open file much faster than CV3D 2018, especially files of sectionview => which can save me lots of time when debug.
