MOMENT LOAD - ANALYSIS FAILURE

HI , IAM TRYING TO APPLY MOMENT LOAD ON BELOW ATTACHED PART. BUT UNABLE TO RUN THE ANALYSIS. ALWAYS GETTING SINGULARITY ERROR.

Your file has no input for the analysis. Can you attach the file that has the Nastran setup?

 

In general, a singularity indicates the analysis is not statically stable, either because

  1. Some piece of the model is not constrained properly. You have 3 separate pieces in a part file. (Normally, you use an assembly when you want separate pieces, not a part file.) Did you define contact between the pieces?
  2. The material properties create a condition that is similar to rigid body motion. For example, a Poisson's ratio of 0.5 leads to a shear modulus of rigidity of 0 which allows infinite motion with 0 stress.
  3. The mesh is distorted which mathematically creates a matrix of equations which has no solution.
