MESHING FAILING FOR SIMPLE PART

Hi ,

  Ima trying to do meshing for the simple part attached parts. Always iam getting meshing failed error. Tried changing tolerance and everything but no results.Looking for solution from nastran experts here.

What version are you using?

 

I was able to mesh both models in version 2023 by using the YZ plane to split all the faces. (Of course, you need to reset the mesh size to a realistic value. A 100 mm mesh size on a 90 mm diameter shaft will not work. One of the models also has a mesh tolerance of 1 mm. I suggest resetting the mesh settings to the defaults.)

 

You may not need to split the face where the moment load is applied. Not splitting that face would make it easier to apply the load.

 

Be sure to check the reaction forces and moments. Moment loads applied to faces of a solid have some problems, especially when applied about the Z axis.
