I have a mudbox file that is using 16bit tiff layers that are 2k by 2k. The model in question has 5 UVMaps so when I export to photoshop I get 5 files generated.
So far so good.
If I then edit one of the layers and save the psd file and then tell mudbox to load it back in, for a brief moment I can see my edits, but then they disappear.
This is the info from the log from the layer in question being reloaded:
ConvertAndChecksum -- converting image
PSD Import: importing changed layer ov_M_areola copy (605cd56f, 8f84527a)
Save Layer Tile to temp file
saving image: /Users/kipp/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Mudbox 2015/Temp/MBTEMP_ava_mat_ov_M_areola copy_u5_v1_3.exr
PSD Channel Import -- converting layer size/format
PSD file: nx: 2048, ny: 2048, nc: 4, type: 1 (bits/ch: 16), numLyrs: 18
PSD Warning: Interesting bit depth 16
PSD file: nx: 2048, ny: 2048, nc: 4, type: 1 (bits/ch: 16, 2), numLyrs: 18
PSD layer: 9, x: 106, y: 660, nx: 1836, ny: 767, nc: 4
PSDLoad -- layer copied
Is there a solution to this issue? Otherwise PSD export/import is useless to me 😞

Bummer. A workaround is to put your changed art on a new layer in photoshop, then delete the old layer in mudbox. Gets around it reloading a cached version or whatever it's doing. Works, but tedious when you have multiple layers and multiple files.
