Render Settings - File name prefix

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have been trying to get my file names to be named after the RS layer they are in.  I have tried a number ways even making layer overrides on the file names but it still just keeps putting the scn name for the file name.

The folders are naming fine but It won't match the RS layer and folder name.

thanks

Hi @Anonymous

I'm a bit confused by your issue. Do you mean the names of the files of your renders or for something else?

When you get a chance, please come back with as much information/screenshots as possible and I'll be happy to assist you!

I have attached a screenshot - but you will see that folder name is being named after the render layer but the images it is creating are not.  Render layer name "Money"  Folder name "Money"  image name "FTM_V07..."

Hi @Anonymous

I just tried this and had no issues.

Just to make sure, you have the render layer enabled and the override set to it like my screenshot below correct?render_settings.png

If this doesn't work for you, you may want to try deleting your settings/preferences.

Please let me know if this helps or if you need any more assistance!

Hey man - Nope still not working.

I tired that before and again now - I have used overrides and

could this be something that is messed up on my Farm?

Hi @Anonymous

Most likely. I don't have access to a render farm to test on but rendering locally I had no problems at all with the overrides for the name files.

You may want to do a simple local render test with the AOVs as well to confirm that the issue is with your farm and not your version of Maya.

Let me know if anything changes!

having this same problem. it is not a farm issue. simply changing the fil name prefix does not work. Well it changes but always reverts back to '(not set; using scene name)'
