Uv red areas

Hi,

I have modelled this wii balance board (low poly). Now i try to unwrap its uv’s but I have a problem.

I used planar projection separately for upper faces, bottom faces, sides and power button. However red areas appear as in the screenshot.

Then I try automatic uv projection, the ratio goes mad as in the screenshot. Some of the the uv shells become squares instead of rectangular also sides’ shells height changes. If i try to change scale then red areas appear again.

I cleared history, checked for overlapping faces yet cannot solve the problem.

Have any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

hi, thank you. I've looked at the link, and tried it, flipped faces. Also I changed the uv unfold. The red areas are gone. However the faces i flipped get cut from the shell body.

(I flipped the faces without cut from the shell from the flip menu but did not work).

thank you, I did it. but still have red areas. Tried another unwrapping and this is the result:

cant get rid off this distortion problem. the only way when all shells are white is auto mapping but this time all rectangles become square:

I feel like I'm in a loop :S
