Wedge an Edge

Hello! Do you think its possible to use Wedge Tool on edge? I wish to curve my plane.

Bridge in smooth path+curve almost does the trick. but messes with vertices a bit (see the pic)

You can either increase the number of divisions, or correct the overlaps manually (be a sculptor, an artist, do eyeballing).

If this doesn't suit your workstyle/needs, then possibly you might reconsider a different set of actions, to model same thing with less manual input.

thank you! tho in this video they using Wedge on faces.

And generally speaking, Maya doesn't have Wedge option when you select edge but not face.

I was just hoping to get some wise hacks here 🙂

model corner > bevel edge

edit: depending on your exact goal and project requirements your result could be considered correct and probably just shows your corner radius is too small.

somehow expected that;)

sebastian_freigang_0-1624299430136.png

as before model the corner, bevel it, duplicate and offset/transform component, move down-combine-bridge, delete unused faces, bevel inner edge.

or:

create corner, bevel, extrude with thickness, remove unused faces, bevel inner edge.

last but not least:

step 1& 2 as before, extrude bottom edge, bevel inner edge.
