Shading problem

Hey, I'm a 3D student working on a model for a class, and ran into this problem. I haven't seen this before. It's all one mesh. Half is smooth shaded and the other half is flat shaded. Anyone know what the issue is?

select your mesh and in go to normals > soften edge to make it all smooth shaded. just in case it doesn´t work you´ll maybe have to "unlock" the normals in the same menu.
