Problem in vertex selection

Hi, I have a problem in vertex mode when I convert poly to subdivide in modify tab. Is this a bad configuration? how can I fix this?

Hi!

You created a Maya Subdivision Surface which is not developed anymore in Maya.

There are still some things left for compatibility but you should not use this for new projects.

Use Smooth Mesh or Smooth Mesh Preview instead:
