xgen grass not applying to entire surface

Im trying to get grass over my topo surface but the grass only appears on a portion of the surface. any ideas why?

Do you have any masks applied?

Also, can you try unloading your Xgen plugins then re enabled them to see if anything changes?

There was no mask applied. i went back to the file a few days later and it seemed to work fine that time. its hit or miss. I believe that it is just the size of the model combined with the fact that it is a mesh from revit.
