unable to delete shots in camera sequencer in maya 2018. which it works in maya 2014

What happens when you select the shot in the sequencer and hit delete?

When you get a chance, can you possibly post a video of this issue so I can get a better idea of what's going on?

If you need a video capturing program, Screencast is a great option that we use here at Autodesk

Is this a scene from 2014 or a new scene you made in 2018?

Even though the side bar doesn't disappear, is it affecting the scene at all?

new scene from 2018, 
no it's not affecting the scene,but it bothers me , also the frame indicator cross over to left side also bothers me...

2018.3 still has this issue

I just did some more testing and this does look like an issue with Maya. I went ahead and logged this with our dev team so they can work on a fix.
