Hi guys! Sorry for the ominous title, but it's the most literal description of a problem i'm having.
I must have hit some hotkey, because all of the sudden when I select an object and try to rotate it, my viewport becomes pitch black in all views (perspective and all ortho and new views). I've restarted my computer and double checked the hotkey settings.
Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!
IF you create a fresh empty Maya scene does this still happen?
Can you possibly post some screenshots or video of this issue?
If you need a video capturing program, Screencast is a great option that we use here at Autodesk
Finally, what GPU are you using and is the driver version the same as our certified hardware list?
You can find our certified hardware list here!

Hi! It seems to have figured itself out. I tried a couple of things, and it seemed to be triggered by hitting "d" on my keyboard. It still only happened with the rotation tool. I deleted my pref folder and restarted both maya and my computer, and it seemed to work for a little bit, but it ultimately went back. This was for all files I tried. Toggling the joint x-ray on and off seemed to work too. I also switched the viewport back to legacy. I'm not quite sure what fixed the problem, but if it happens again I'll let you know with a screen recording! I would experiment a bit more but I'm on deadline. Maybe next week.
Hi @Anonymous
The D key allows you to move the gizmo/pivot point of your object so it's weird that that could be causing the issue.
I'm glad you're back up and running though and let me know if this issue occurs again!
