Quad draw tool creates polygons inside the mesh

Hi all,

I'm having problem with quad draw tool in Maya 2017 update5.

the polygons tend to drawn inside of the original mesh, it's not letting me select the vertex inside of the mesh.

Even if I draw more edges it's acting weird. (I can't draw new edges on the polygons that are completely covered by the original mesh)

how can I solve this problem?

Hi!

Does your Live-object only have one single surface?

Please upload a scene-file.

hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by having one single surface.. the mesh is imported from Zbrush

I've attached the scene file.

Thank you.

Hi!

You have multiple faces (of the same object) overlapping (very close to each other) and facing the same direction.

Cut through object:

Hi, how can I possibly solve this? Should I make the mesh single sided (meaning no thickness)?  Thank you!
