Object appearing transparent in viewport

Below, I have attached a screenshot of my problem. I am very (very) new to Maya and I have no clue what most of everything that isn't animation related means, so I don't trust myself to go digging around in the settings etc.

I just want to know how to make it so the rig isn't transparent or see-through.

Hi @abram926  and welcome to the community!

There may be a transparency map linked to the material of your model. If you right click and hold on your model go to Material Attributes and look for the Transparency slider. If that has a value you can right click on it and select break connection which should remove any transparency.

No. Your solution was helpful. But it turns out all I needed to do was turn off x-ray in the shading menu.

well on this topic, i have xray on but why is half of my model more transparent than the other half?
