MAYA 2019 ERROR

Hi,

For some reason, I am getting an infinite loop of errors.

// Warning: file: /Applications/Autodesk/maya2019/Maya.app/Contents/scripts/startup/initHUDScriptsEvaluationManager.mel line 121: Error detected in Parallel evaluation, reverting to Serial evaluation mode. //

I think I gotta change the evaluation mode but the problem is I don't want to do that as Maya crashes all the time on evaluation mode is set to serial.

Hi @baris.cavusoglu

Is Maya crashing when it shows this error? Does it generate an error report to fill out and submit to Autodesk? If so please fill it out and let me know what the CER report number is.

Also, if you make a new scene does this error still appear?

Check and make sure you don't have an environment variable "MAYA_LOCATION" set.  If you have multiple version of Maya installed on your machine because you just installed Maya 2019 and you have this global environment variable set, say to perhaps Maya 2018, this location takes precedence on application start and then points Maya 2019 to Maya 2018 program folders, which obviously is not going to work.

Hello,

That might be the issue as I have Maya 2017, 2018 and 2019. Could you please assist me on how to make sure I don't have an environment variable "MAYA_LOCATION" set?

Kind regards,

Baris

I did not want to go through and grab a bunch of screenshots.  I assume you are running Windows.  If so follow the procedure here and check to see if there is an environment variable set for MAYA_LOCATION.  If you have one set then you should delete that environment variable.  It really should not hurt to delete it and will most likely fix your problem.

If you have a Mac or Linux it is a lot more involved.  For Mac I found this link.  For Linux... well I have to assume if you are running Linux you know how to set environment variables.

Good luck!

same error, but there's no environment variables associated with Maya in my environment variables window. Any ideas? I've been having issues with Parallel evaluation ever since Maya 2018.

That's not an error and you really should start a new thread.

There's no lights in the scene. Create one from the Arnold menu.

If you want a light, you have to create a light.
