Im using Maya 2018 student version and whenever i try to load anything, blank scenes, full scenes and new scenes the program will simply not load and instead display a fatal error message in the output box. i have tried numerous methods to solve this including performing a clean uninstall/reinstall, altering the system environment, adding it to my nvidia control panel and finally attempting to install new drivers. None of them worked and now im at a loss, any help would be appreciated. the attached image is a screencap of the error.

Hi @Anonymous
Our official driver version for GTX cards is 382.33.
When you get a chance, could you uninstall your current driver and download this one? You can find a download link to it here!
Let me know if it works!

hi,
I have exactly the same problem with error in maya 2018 and nothing seems to work, however my graphic card is AMD FireProW5100 (FireGL v) Graphic Adapter. Is there any solution in that case
Hi @Anonymous
Our certified driver version for that card is 17.Q4.
Can you please check to see if you are on that driver version and if not, please either update or rollback to it and see if that resolves your issue?

Hi!
Make sure to use:
1. the latest Maya update
2. The correct graphic card driver version as @sean.heasley mentioned
3. Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

Hi @alex.murias
Have you tried changing your driver version? Your post says you have version 382.33 but our certified version for the 1070 is version 388.43.
When you get a chance, please uninstall your current GPU drivers and install version 388.43 which can be found here!

Hi @Anonymous
I took a look at that your post and I have one idea you could try.
Have you checked to see if your firewall or antivirus is blocking Maya? If so, please make sure Maya is allowed through and you could also try launching as an admin.
Let me know if anything changes!

I have tried to disable windows firewall and defender and also tried to launch Maya as an admin but it still doesn't work. I tried to install eariler 382.33 driver and it works. Could you tell me the latest driver supported for GTX970M for Maya 2018? Thank you!
Hi @Anonymous
We don't officially support the 970M gpu.
Did the 382.33 driver work for you?

382.33 driver works but I just not sure if there is any newer version that supports GTX970M for Maya 2018 since 382.33 driver has been a little bit too old.
Hi @Anonymous
At the moment that is your best bet to work with Maya.
You could try updating your GPU driver to a more recent version but we can't guarantee you won't see any issues with Maya.
Please let me know if this information is helpful or if you need any more assistance!
