Does anyone know why this error message is continuously popping up in Maya 2017? Everything was working perfectly fine, then it crashed, and now this message is appears as soon as I open up Maya. It is also appearing after every action I do (click on a mesh, that message appears, click on a mesh again, it appears. I'm not sure how to fix this..

Thank you.

Hi guys

It looks like this is some kind of issue related to the modeling toolkit plugin. I haven't been able to narrow down the exact cause, but I did manage to reproduce it on my PC.

The way I fixed it was very simple. Just go to

Windows > Modeling Editors > Modeling Toolkit

And it seemed to correct itself

PressThisButton.jpg

Failing that you can do the following:

1) Close Maya

2) Browse to your prefs folder

3) Delete or rename the pluginPrefs.mel file

4) Restart Maya

Hopefully one of those solutions will work for you.

Cheers

Mike

Hi natalietai.m

Sorry, I meant "preferences" folder. You can find the official instructions in the documentation:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/Maya/fil...

Thanks

them.

Just no note that it could also be a clashing folder. I also had this problem and realized I had a folder called 2015 x64 in teh Maya tab. So if you download a newer version of Maya, make sure to completely remove your previous versions. I only realized when trying to fix this issue haha!

Hey, I think one of the causes is deleting the modelling toolkit where you have the attribute editor and channel box. I deleted it yesterday cause it was bugging me then I started having this issue. Thanks for the solve!!
