Maya 2017 Student wont' start Windows 10

I am using a student version of Maya 2017. Maya was working fine one day but after I restarted my laptop and tried to reopen Maya it wouldn't work. What I see happen when I try to open Maya is the Maya icon will show up for less than a second and disappear and won't open. I've tried repairing and uninstalling everything and reinstalling but Maya still won't work. I think windows 10 just updated my laptop recently so I think maybe that might have something to do with it. Also I am using a ASUS laptop and I've met someone who has a similar issue as me and he also has a ASUS laptop. Any help is appreciated.

You can try downgrading to Maya 2016 and use the extension pack 2. It fixes many problems with Win10.

Hi!

If your Windows 10 updated you may try to install your graphic driver again (or a newer Version).

If this  doesn't help try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2017 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything,

the folder 2017 to 2017_backup. Maya creates new folders. Detailed at:

try switching off the windows service called: 

"Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0".

and restart windows!

it worked in my case.
