Just recently, Maya 2016 keeps crashing as soon as I open it. When I click on the application only the Command window and Stack trace window pop up with a list of errors, then maya closes. I've tried downloading the new service pack and tried reinstalling maya alltogether but I am still having this problem. Is there any way to fix maya so it works again?
Hello,
I have some questions:
1.: Is the issue since the first install? Or since when is the issue? What has happened before?
2.: Are you using 3rd party plugins that can cause that issue?
3.: Can you do a quick test and reset Maya by following this article:
I hope that is helpful.
Regards,
Hello,
1: This issue was not since the first install. Maya was working great up until two days ago. This has never happened before on my computer.
2: I'm not using any 3rd party plug ins. I've dowloaded everything from Autodesk.
3: Thanks for the article, I did the steps, however maya is still not working. Only the Command window and Stack trace are coming up again. I attached a picture of the command window code.
Do you happen to have any script files in your prefs in the "global" folder? i.e. there are pref's that are specific to the version, in a folder with the version number, but then there is also a "scripts" folder that sits beside those that all versions of Maya can see. You didn't copy a file into there did you?
I'm not sure if this would quite help, but here is what I am seeing in my command box:

This is nearly identical to the issue I am having.....
Service Pack 6 seems to be the "update" causing the conflict.
Thanks for the reply. I tried to update maya with the mac OSX service pack 6, but maya still isn't starting up.
If I install service pack 5 for maya 2016, would the problem go away?
