How to change Default menu from Rigging to modeling

Recently Maya has started opening the rigging menu on startup instead of the modeling menu. How do I change which menu Maya starts with?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! Are you referring to Layouts? If so, you can change that in your preferences: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/Maya-Customizing/files/GUID-D2C8B14B-6AB2-4F6B-AC1E-67154D3FB251-htm.html

Let me know if that answers your question 🙂 If so, consider marking this thread as solved so other forum members can find the answer faster.

Thanks, I tried that but it did not work for me.
The below image shows the option that I am referring to.

It just won't stay on Modeling by default like it used to.

Ah the menu set! Thanks for posting that picture 🙂

If you open up the menu set editor, what order do these items show up in? Here's some more info: Menu Set Editor.

Have you tried resetting your preferences to default recently? You can rename the preference folder for testing so you dont lose any customizations - renaming the folder back to "prefs" after will reinstate your customizations.
