Alembic Cache not preserving edge IDs

I'm trying to do a component set(mainly object sets containing edge selection) data transfer through our pipeline, where we use Alembic cache for modeling and animation as an output. I find alembic cache does not respect edge id when being exported. Is there any way to keep edge IDs through Alembic exports? Thanks.

I've tested this in Maya 2015 sp6 and Maya 2018.5.

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a 6-face polygon box

2. select the box and export selected to Alembic

3. reference the Alembic file

4. show edge id for the original mesh and the referenced mesh

wrong ids

I went ahead and tested it in Maya 2019 as well as 2018 and this does indeed seem to be an issue. I have since logged this with development so they can begin working on a fix!
