How to achieve this? (Thousands of objects)

Hi there!

I need help on the following:

- I need to make thousands of objects (imagine crickets) flying in a completely random fashion;

- Then these objects will slowly form into a logo;

Where could I start researching this? I'm starting with nParticles but I can't really use an object as particles (like if I actually want to model a cricket and use it as an nParticle and emit it thousands of times).

Thank you

Hi!

You can use Mash to bind geometry to your particles.

Here is a Tutorial on this. It's a bit older so somethings might have changed in the meantime, but it should give you a good starting point to what you are looking for.

I hope it helps!

some very nice effects can be done directly in Mash,

I have created an effortless effect that took me less than 2 minutes to set up.
It is very simple but can be a starting point to developing a more detailed result...
